Mother's Day Shopping ideas!

“A mother is the one who fills your heart in the first place.”
-Amy Tan, Saving Fish From Drowning

It’s almost Mother’s Day, what fills your mom’s heart, a new cookbook, shopping, art, wine, coffee or maybe sweets. Well, there is something to make every mother’s heart swoon this Mother’s Day.

Girl’s Night Out on the Square is Mother’s Day Weekend, Saturday, May 13th from 5-8 p.m. with 13 participating merchants where mom can shop, sip, nibble and save. Afterwards if your mom likes the spooky side of life there is the Ghost and Legends Tour at 7 pm. If she is a music fan, the Big City Music Revue for the Sounds of the 60’s will be hopping.

The Pan Handle is where mom can find that perfect cookbook, a Krups coffee grinder or an infusion iced tea/coffee maker.

Artefactz has all the art forms your mom could hope to find in one place. There you can even get your mom that perfect, one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry designed and created by Cynthia James.

Pickadilly Boutique on Houston has clothes, hats, accessories and fudge. Yes, fudge, in amazing flavors. Taste until you find your favorite.

For that special treat, stop by Mary Jayne’s Candies and take your mom back to her childhood with a Cherry Mash, a Big Hunk or an Astro Pop or any one of their specialty truffles or make it a box of truffles. It’s okay, it’s for your mom.

Red on the Square is for the mom who is shopping for high-end women’s fashions at affordable prices. They also have the Brighton line of handbags, jewelry and accessories.

If quilting/sewing/scrapbooking and other crafty endeavors is your mom’s favorite past time, stop in at Patti’s Retreat Center for gift certificates, supplies, classes, projects and more.

Start the day off right with a great brunch at one of several restaurants, cafes and eateries that will be honoring mom on Sunday, May 14th, Mother’s Day.

There really is no end to the surprises and gifts you can give your mom, and let’s face it, after all the clay pots, and finger paintings you gave her she would love just about anything you give, but the most precious gift of all is your time. Let her know how much she means to you by spending the day, or the weekend. Take it from this mom, spending time with my daughters is priceless.
